Hair-trend predictions for the year ahead as reported by Harper’s Bazaar

‘2016 will continue to see texture and move my in the hair, but with more of an emphasis on condition. Less beach waves more city waves. Basically less wind blown and a focus on shine.

2016 will also see smoother looking styles as hair is definitely moving in this direction and becoming more
Groomed. So much so that don’t be surprised to see very sleek straight styles again as the straighter looks start to make more of a come back. It’s not about flat poker straight hair but more of a soft seventies feel to the hair. Smoother hair with a little body but not too perfect.

These styles will have longer softer layers to help bring out natural movement in the hair.

Collar bone lengths and heavy seventies fringes are cooler stronger looks in my eyes.
This look even works perfectly with curlier hair which is also making a big come back. Soft natural curls are def the way forward. Not crispy scrunch drys.’

‘Beach chic is the feel for Spring Summer ’16, soft tonal colours add texture, movement and light through the hair.  Blondes move through the spectrum from cool to warmer shades, this is the acceptable face of ‘global warming’ – interspersed with icy lights to brighten hair and  illuminate skin.  A halo of lighter colour frames the face and works well with the S/S nude make up trends.

Brunettes get to keep their gloss and sheen and whilst the look is less windswept, like summer tailoring the lines are relaxed without being unkempt. A return to glamour without any hard edges or defined contrasting colour, its natural enhancement of what we already have

Braids and ponytails cry out for beautiful multi-tonal shades of light and dark and whilst the trend is for a more finished city wave, colour remains soft and flattering.’
